'David Warner does not deserve farewell test series after ball tampering'

Former Australian cricket team fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has criticized giving  a farewell Test series to his teammate David Warner. Actually, Mitchell Johnson believes that Warner is not in good form in Test cricket, on the other hand, his name also came up in the ball tampering scandal, hence now he should not get any farewell Test series from the team.

Johnson, writing in The West Australian, has given this bitter statement on Warner. He wrote, 'Why should a struggling Test opener announce his own retirement date? Why does the player at the center of one of the biggest scandals in Australian cricket history need a hero's farewell?'

During this time, Johnson, while healing the old wounds of Australian cricket, again highlighted the ball tampering incident that took place in the Australia and South Africa match in the year 2018. This is the reason why Johnson wants that Warner should not get a farewell Test series.

If we talk about Warner, he has expressed his desire to play the last Test match of his career on his home cricket ground i.e. Melbourne Cricket. Also know that a three-match Test series is to be played between Australia and Pakistan from December 14, the last match of which will be played in Melbourne. In such a situation, this match could be the last match of Warner's Test career.

Australia has announced a 14-member squad for the first Test match of the three-match series against Pakistan in Perth. Fast bowler Lance Morris has returned to the team. Maurice is the only uncapped player in this team. Morris has returned from the back injury that ruled him out of the Ashes series. Before returning, he played 3 matches for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield and took 11 wickets at an average of 25.54.
