England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl. His decision seemed to be proved right when West Indies lost only 2 wickets for 8 runs. However, after this Nicholas Puran and Shai Hope took over the innings. Puran scored 26 runs in 19 balls and Shai Hope played a brilliant inning of 82 runs in 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 6 sixes. Captain Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford also batted well in the lower order. Powell scored 39 runs on 21 balls and Rutherford scored 29 runs on 17 balls. Jason Holder remained unbeaten after scoring 18 runs on 5 balls.
Phil Salt and Harry Brook played tremendous innings
England had a tremendous start in chasing the target. The opening pair of Phil Salt and captain Jos Buttler made a tremendous partnership of 115 runs in 11.2 overs for the first wicket. Butler scored 51 runs on 34 balls. Whereas Phil Salt remained till the end and played an unbeaten inning of 109 runs with the help of 4 fours and 9 sixes in 56 balls. Liam Livingstone scored 30 runs on 18 balls, while Harry Brook made the team win by scoring unbeaten 31 runs with the help of 1 four and 4 sixes on 7 balls. England needed 21 runs in the last over to win and Brook gave the team a thrilling victory by hitting 3 sixes and a four.
