'I can't bear to see someone misbehaving with my players', Gambhir breaks silence on fight with Kohli

 

Gautam Gambhir is known for his outspoken statements. At present, Gambhir is in the headlines because of the controversy with Sreesanth, but even more in the headlines is his interview which he has given recently. In this interview, he has spoken openly about his argument with Virat Kohli during IPL 2023 and said that if anyone argues with his players in front of him, he will not remain silent.

Gautam Gambhir was asked on ANI's podcast, "In the Naveen-ul-Haq controversy, please tell what happened?" 

Responding to this question, Gambhir said, "As a mentor, no one can come to my players and tamper with them. My belief is very different. As long as the game was going on, I had no right to interfere." It wasn't, but after the game is over, if someone still gets agitated and argues with my players, I have every right to defend them.

This dispute between Gambhir and Virat was seen during the IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Naveen Ul Haq also played an important role behind this controversy. After the end of the match, there was a heated argument between Virat and Naveen and everyone saw what happened after that. However, the good news for the fans was that when Virat and Naveen came face to face on the cricket field during the Cricket World Cup 2023, both of them erased their grudges and hugged each other.

Although everything may have been fine between these two, the discord that was seen between Gambhir and Virat is still discussed today. However, apart from the argument with Virat Kohli, Gambhir is also in the limelight due to the incidents in the Legends League match with Sreesanth. There was a lot of altercation between the two during the Legends League match and after seeing the verbal war between the two, the umpires intervened and came to the rescue. This incident of altercation between Gambhir and Sreesanth was seen in the second over of the match when Gambhir hit consecutive fours and sixes on Sreesanth's balls. After this, Sreesanth was successful in bowling the next ball dot but he was seen sledging Gambhir. Sreesanth has accused Gambhir of calling him a fixer in the live match.
