Indian team achieved record win by 347 runs, performed brilliantly and defeated England badly.

 

The Indian Women's Team defeated England badly by 347 runs in the only Test match played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai and registered a big win. Chasing the huge target of 479 runs set by the Indian team, England's innings collapsed like a pack of cards and the entire team was all out after scoring just 131 runs in their second innings. In this way Team India achieved a tremendous victory.

After winning the toss and batting first, the Indian women's team made a huge score of 428 runs in its first innings. For the Indian women's team, five batsmen scored half-centuries and for England, Lauren Bell and Sophie Ecclestone took 3-3 wickets. In response, the England team was limited to only 136 runs in its first innings. Natalie Seaver scored the highest score of 59 runs but the rest of the batsmen were a complete flop. Deepti Sharma took 5 wickets for India.

Team India declared its second innings after scoring 186 runs for 6 wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten after scoring 44 runs. In this way England got a huge target of 479 runs. In response to which she was reduced to just 131 runs in her second innings. Deepti Sharma also took 4 wickets in the second innings. Like the first innings, in the second innings too none of the English batsmen could bat for long and due to this they had to face a big defeat.

India's win by 347 runs is the biggest win in terms of runs in the history of women's Test. Apart from this, this is the first Test win of the Indian women's team at home against England. Apart from this, Team India had also set a record target for England.
