You might have hardly heard much about Musheer Khan but this all-rounder player can be the target of franchises in the upcoming IPL auction. Let us tell you more about this 18-year-old player and why he can be a hot pick for teams.
1. One of the youngest players in the auction
Musheer Khan is included in the group of 18 players under the age of 19 who will be part of the auction. Musheer was born on 27 February 2005, making him the fifth youngest player in the IPL 2024 auction.
2. Musheer Khan is brother of Sarfaraz Khan
Musheer Khan is the younger brother of Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan. Like Musheer, Sarfaraz also became famous in the cricket world at a very young age. The elder brother is one of the few Indian players to have played in two Under-19 World Cups (2014 and 2016). Sarfaraz has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in the IPL. However, he is yet to make his mark in the competition and will also be a part of the auction after being released by Delhi Capitals.
3. Musheer is part of India's 2024 Under-19 World Cup squad
The 2024 Under-19 World Cup will begin just a month after the IPL 2024 auction date. Musheer Khan is going to represent India in the tournament and will try to help the team win a record sixth title. Despite being just 18 years old, Musheer Khan has already played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. He has scored 96 runs in five innings and has shown his batting versatility by opening the innings for Mumbai along with batting in the lower middle order. As far as his bowling is concerned, the left-arm orthodox spinner has taken two wickets. He took 2 wickets for 11 runs in the fourth innings against Assam earlier this year.
