IPL 2024: This former cricketer got angry when Starc and Cummins were sold at such an expensive price, said- If Kohli was there, he would have gone for Rs 42 crores.

The most expensive player in the IPL 2024 auction was Mitchell Starc of Australia. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a huge amount of Rs 24.75 crore. With this he became the most expensive selling player in IPL history. Apart from him, Sunrisers Hyderabad had bought fast bowler Pat Cummins for Rs 20.5 crore. He is the second most expensive selling player in IPL history. After Starc and Cummins were sold at such a high price, former cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that if teams had bid on Kohli, then the top Indian batsman would have got a bid of up to Rs 42 crore in the IPL auction.

Akash said, "If Mitchell Starc plays all 14 matches and bowls his quota of four full overs, each ball will cost Rs 7,60,000. But here's a question. Who is the best bowler in the world? IPL Who is the best bowler? His name is Jasprit Bumrah he gets 12 crores and Starc around 25 crores. This is wrong. I don't complain about anyone's money. I want everyone to get a lot of salary but how is this fair? Is?"

The former cricketer further said, "This is the Indian Premier League. How is one getting so little and the other so much salary? Loyalty is royalty. If tomorrow, Bumrah says to MI, please release me and I will sell my salary in the auction. I will keep the name. Or if Kohli says the same thing to RCB then his price will increase, right? And that's how it should be? If this auction market decides that Starc's price is Rs 25 crore, then it will also decide that Kohli's price It should be 42 crores, or Bumrah's 35 crores. If it is not happening, then it is a mistake."

On this, Suresh Raina said, "Jasprit Bumrah for Rs 12 crore, MS Dhoni for Rs 12 crore, Mohammed Shami for Rs 5 crore. The player who was not a part of the league for 8 years and played only 26 matches, got almost Rs. 25 crores were given. This is not right." Left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2014 and 2015. During this period, he played a total of 27 matches and took 34 wickets with the help of an economy rate of 7.17.
