LLC 2023: India Capitals made it to Qualifier 2 by defeating Gujarat Giants by 12 runs in a thrilling match.

 

In the Eliminator of Legends League Cricket 2023, India Capitals defeated Gujarat Giants by 6 runs with the help of brilliant performance by the batsmen and finally the bowlers and made it to Qualifier 2. Capitals will face Manipal Tigers in Qualifier 2. The team that wins this match will face Urbanrisers Hyderabad in the final on 9th December. Gujarat is out of the tournament. 

Batting first, India Capitals scored a huge score of 223 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. For India Capitals, the maximum runs came from the bat of captain Gautam Gambhir. He played a half-century inning of 51(30) runs. In this innings he hit 7 fours and one six. Bharat Chipli played an inning of 35 runs in 16 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Ben Dunk faced 10 balls and scored 30 runs with the help of 4 sixes. Riyad Emrit and Rajat Bhatia took maximum 2-2 wickets for Gujarat. Apart from this, S Sreesanth, Sarabjit Ladda and Seekkuge Prasanna were successful in taking one wicket each. 

Chasing the target, Gujarat could score only 211 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Substitute Chris Gayle scored the most runs for the team. He played a half-century inning of 84 runs with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes in 55 balls. Kevin O'Brien scored a half-century of 57 runs in 33 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Gayle and Bryan made a partnership of 115 (60) runs. Rusty Theron and Ishwar Pandey took maximum 2-2 wickets for Capitals. Isuru Udana and substitute Fidel Edwards took one wicket each.
