Sarfaraz Khan got a chance for South Africa tour, Rituraj Gaikwad-Akshar Patel also included in India A team

 

India A team will play two four-day matches against South Africa under the leadership of wicketkeeper batsman KL Bharat. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team for these matches. These matches will be played during the Indian senior cricket team's tour of South Africa. 

Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan has got a chance in the team, who has performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, but at present he has not got a chance in the senior team. 

Bharat last played for India in the final of the World Test Championship. He has not got a chance in the senior team. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan have been selected as wicketkeeper batsmen in the Indian Test team for the South Africa tour. 

Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel, Manav Suthar and Vidhwath Kawerappa have also been included in the India A squad. BCCI has said that Easwaran's availability will depend on his fitness. 

Devdutt Padikkal, Prasidh Krishna and Tushar Pandey are part of the India A squad for the first match. Tilak Verma, Washington Sundar, Akshar Patel and Navdeep Saini have also been selected for the second match. 

India A team for the first four-day match:  Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran (depending on fitness), Devdutt Padikkal, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Sarfaraz Khan, KS Bharat (captain)(wk), Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, Pulkit Narang, Saurabh. Kumar, Manav Suthar, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Vidhavath Kawerappa, Tushar Deshpande.

India A team for the second four-day match:  Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran*, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Verma, KS Bharat (captain)(wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Manav Suthar, Akash Deep, Vidhwath Kawerappa, Navdeep Saini.

India will also play a three-day inter-squad game, for which the names of 26 players have been announced.
