The former captain is angry with the inclusion of this player in the Pakistan team, said - 'He is just a part-time bowler'

Former Pakistan Cricket Team captain Salman Butt has expressed his displeasure over the selection of Mohammad Nawaz for the current Test series against Australia. Nawaz was not selected for the first three-match Test series but came in as a replacement due to Noman Ali being ruled out with injury. Salman Butt expressed his displeasure over the inclusion of Nawaz on his YouTube channel.

Butt said, 'Players who have been performing consistently well in domestic cricket should have got a chance. Nawaz has played T20 cricket almost 90 percent of the time. There is neither flight nor much turn in his bowling. He is not a complete bowler. He is only a part-time bowler.

Let it be known that Mohammad Nawaz has played 6 tests in his career so far and has taken 16 wickets. He played his last Test in Multan in December 2022, in which he took only one wicket. Pakistan then had to suffer a 26-run defeat at the hands of England.

Salman Butt also said that Pakistan's think tank took a wrong decision by replacing the leading spinner with a batting all-rounder. Butt noted that Nawaz's performance as a bowler in first-class cricket has been ordinary. Butt requested the team management to give opportunity to those spinners who have an excellent record in domestic cricket.

Salman Butt said, 'Pakistan does not have one of the specialist spinners for the Boxing-Day Test. Instead of looking at other leading spinners in the country, he chose Mohammad Nawaz, who is a batting all-rounder. He has made his place in the national team through his batting performance.

He further said, 'Nawaz played 56 matches in first class cricket and took 104 wickets. There is a bowler like Mohammad Irfan Zeller, who has taken 287 wickets in 82 matches.

Let us remind you that Pakistan had to face a humiliating defeat of 360 runs in the first test match played in Perth. Pakistan's second innings was reduced to only 89 runs. The second test has started in Melbourne.
