This former cricketer praised Gaikwad, said- he should play in all three formats

 


Former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra has said that Ruturaj Gaikwad should play in all three formats for  the Indian team . This statement of Nehra has come after Ruturaj scored a century in the third T20 International match against Australia. This is his first century in this format. He played a brilliant century of 123* runs in 57 balls. In this innings he hit 13 fours and 7 sixes. India is leading 2-1 in the 5-match T20 International series.  

Nehra said, "Everyone knows what kind of player he (Rituraj Gaikwad) is. When you talk about Yashasvi Jaiswal, his game is completely different compared to Gaikwad. You need strength in the T20 format as well. And that's what Gaikwad brings. There is no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad is a player for India in all three formats. The kind of class that Gaikwad has shown is incredible, amazing and this (century in the second T20 International) is a great, It was a great innings."

In the third T20 International match, India, batting first, scored a huge score of 222 runs after losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Rituraj Gaikwad scored the highest 123 (57)* runs for India. In this innings he hit 13 fours and 7 sixes. Captain Suryakumar Yadav played innings of 39(29) and Tilak Verma scored 31(24)* runs. Jason Behrendorff, Kane Richardson and Aaron Hardy got one wicket each for Australia. 

Chasing the target, the Australian team won the match by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs and scoring 225 runs. For Australia, Glenn Maxwell played a century inning of 104 (48)* runs. Travis Head contributed 35(18) and captain Matthew Wade contributed 28(16)* runs. Ravi Bishnoi took maximum 2 wickets for India. Akshar Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan took one wicket each.
