Those 3 players whom the franchise made a mistake by retaining, the list includes a player worth Rs 18.50 crores

Before the IPL 2024 auction, all 10 teams have presented the list of their retained and released players to the world. Many teams have released their big players, but despite this there are many teams which have backed some of their old players despite their poor performance. This is the reason why today, through this special article, we are going to tell you the names of those three players whose last season was very bad, yet they have not been released by their franchise. Perhaps this could be a big mistake of the team.

Sam Curran

Sam Curran is a part of Punjab Kings and he has been retained by Punjab Kings for a huge amount of Rs 18.50 crore. Although Karan is an all-rounder, but last season he was failing miserably in both batting and bowling. In IPL 2023, Sam Curran was able to take only 276 runs and 10 wickets in 14 matches. PBKS had high expectations from him, due to which they made a huge bid of Rs 18.50 crore on Karan. Recently, Sam Curran could not perform well in the World Cup, so perhaps retaining this English player for Rs 18.50 crore may prove to be an expensive deal for Punjab Kings.

Dinesh Karthik

Royal Challengers Bangalore have once again shown confidence in their experienced wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. RCB has retained Karthik for Rs 5.50 crore, but after seeing Karthik's performance in the last season, fans are criticizing RCB's decision a lot. Actually, in IPL 2023, Karthik was able to score only 140 runs at a very poor average of 11.67 after playing 13 matches for RCB. During this period, not a single half-century was scored with his bat. Dinesh Karthik is not playing any cricket, in such a situation perhaps retaining Dinesh Karthik may prove costly for Bangalore.

Sunil Narayan

Sunil Narayan is also included in our list. Sunil Narayan, who has made batsmen all over the world dance with his spin, has also been seen struggling with his form in the past. The last three seasons of IPL were completely cold for Sunil Narayan. In IPL 2023, he played full 14 matches during which he could score only 21 runs, while only 11 wickets came in his account.

Not only this, Narayan's performance in the IPL tournaments of 2021 and 2020 was also very poor. In the year 2021, he scored 71 runs and 9 wickets. Whereas in the year 2020, he was able to take only 62 runs and 16 wickets. In such a situation, it is not at all wrong to say that KKR should have found a replacement for Narayan, but perhaps they have made a big mistake by not doing so.
