WATCH: Wahab Riaz fired Salman Butt in 1 day, came forward and answered the questions

Every day there is some uproar in Pakistan cricket and now something similar has happened once again. The Pakistan Cricket Board had appointed Salman Butt as a consultant to the selection panel along with Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar Anjum but barely a day after several former cricketers and media channels questioned the appointment of Salman Butt, the chief selector of Pakistan , Wahab Riaz has dismissed Salman Butt from his post.

According to Pakistani media channels, Wahab Riaz had to take this decision after the intervention of the country's acting Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. Former Pakistan captain Butt was named as Riaz's advisor on Friday, but the decision was met with sharp reaction from former Pakistani cricketers like Rameez Raja and the Pakistani media because in 2011, Butt had played a Test match at Lord's. Admitted to spot fixing. He was banned from the game for five years and even spent time in jail in England.

Addressing a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, Riaz answered all the questions related to Salman Butt and said that he is reversing his decision because many people have created a lot of issues. He said, "I have already spoken to Salman Butt and told him that he cannot be a part of my team because I do not want people to associate us in any way."

Butt played 33 Tests, 78 ODIs and 24 T20 matches for Pakistan. He was also in the T20 World Cup winning team in 2009. But his international career ended after the spot-fixing incident. At present, Butt has been removed from the role given in the selection panel, after which many former cricketers in Pakistan are happy. At the same time, Butt's reaction to this entire incident is yet to come.
