Brian Lara and Carl Hooper became emotional after seeing West Indies' victory after 27 years, were caught on camera crying, watch video

 


Brian Lara and Carl Hooper: West Indies cricket team defeated Australia by 8 runs in the second and last test played at Gabba. After 27 years, West Indies defeated Australia in a test match on its own soil. Apart from this, Australia was defeated for the first time in day-night. After this thrilling victory of West Indies, some such emotional moments were seen, the video of which is going viral on social media.

After the victory, the first reaction of former West Indies captain Brian Lara and the team's current assistant coach Carl Hooper was captured on camera. Both these giants are seen crying in joy of this victory. Let us tell you that Lara was commentating in this match and after the victory, he hugged former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist with moist eyes. 

Let us tell you that before this, in 1997, when West Indies last won in Australia, Lara and Cooper were part of that playing eleven.

With this win, West Indies ended the series with a 1-1 draw. 

The hero of this historic victory of West Indies was fast bowler Shamar Joseph, who took 7 wickets for 68 runs in the second innings after being injured. Joseph was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his excellent performance. 

Opening batsman Steve Smith played an excellent innings for Australia while chasing the target of 216 runs. Smith remained unbeaten on 91 runs in 146 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. Apart from this, Cameron Green played an inning of 42 runs. Six Australian players could not reach double figures.

In this match, West Indies scored 311 runs after winning the toss and batting first. In response, Australia declared the first innings after scoring 289 runs at the loss of 9 wickets, giving West Indies a lead of 22 runs.

West Indies scored 193 runs in the second innings and set a target of 216 runs for Australia to win.
