The special thing is that the day of 22nd can be very heavy on the pockets of the devotees. Because the airfare and hotel room rates for that day have skyrocketed. The cost of both of these can reach up to Rs 1 lakh just for the 22nd. According to data from SOTC, Thomas Cook, EaseMyTrip and other travel portals, people may have to spend more than one lakh rupees to attend and seek blessings of Ram Lala. The “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony will be organized on January 22. Special invitations have been sent to 6,000-7,000 people including many politicians and celebrities for this event.

Airfare around 20 to 30 thousand rupees

Mint reports Indivar Rastogi, President and Group Head, Global Business Travel, Thomas Cook (India) and SOTC Travel, said that with the announcement of the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the kind of demand coming from the customers is making Ayodhya a reality. There is an indication of the increasing interest of people regarding this. There has been an increase of 400 percent in all segments compared to before the pandemic. Considering the demand, the airfare to Ayodhya from centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai ranges from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 30 thousand. Rastogi says, the direct return fare for Ayodhya in the week of January 22 is 30-70 percent higher than the average fare of nearby cities Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

70 thousand rupees per night rent

An initial attendance of about 7,000 guests is expected at the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, with three to five lakh visitors expected per day after the inauguration, which will offer significant economic opportunities, EaseMyTrip had earlier said in a media report. Before the inauguration, hotels in Ayodhya are fully booked, so that they will be able to take advantage of the increased prices. The occupancy rate has increased from 80 percent to 100 percent, due to which there has been a huge increase in prices. One night fare in selected hotels has reached Rs 70,000. Rastogi said that given the limited hotel list, customers are focusing on one-day trips to Ayodhya and booking rooms in Lucknow and Prayagraj.
