Leading cab service provider Uber is testing a new feature, through which people will be able to decide the fare themselves. The name of Uber's new feature is Uber Flex, the testing of which started in October last year. Uber's competitor company inDrive also allows its customers to decide the fare themselves. Uber's new feature can help in booking cheap rides.

Initially this feature will be released for cabs. After this it can be issued for auto-rickshaw rides. According to media reports, Uber confirmed that this service has been expanded in some cities of the country. Till now the company used to show fares based on traffic and demand, but with the introduction of Flex feature, it will provide a lot of convenience to the customers.

Uber Flex: New service will be available in these cities

Uber has launched the new service in more than 12 tier 2 and tier 3 cities of India like Aurangabad, Bareilly, Ajmer, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Gwalior, Indore, Jodhpur and Surat. Users taking Uber service in these cities will be able to take advantage of Flex service. Through this, people will get the facility to book cabs at low prices.

Uber Flex: You will be able to decide the fare like this

Under Uber Flex, users will be able to choose from nine price points, with one fare being the default. When users select a fare, its details will be shared with drivers present in the area. Now drivers can accept or cancel this deal if they want. However, unlike inDrive, in Flex mode Uber will have control over setting the minimum fare.

Uber Flex: Plan to bring it to big cities also

The new service has just been released for Uber Go rides. This feature will also work in traveling between different cities. Apart from India, Uber Flex has also been tested in Lebanon, Kenya and Latin America. According to reports, the company is also planning to bring Flex service to big cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
