According to the potters who make the lamps, the clay for making items comes from the fields of Bahadurgarh and Jhajjar districts of Haryana. It includes black and yellow soil. Every year soil costs four to six thousand rupees per trolley. Now this soil is not available even at double the price. A potter makes about six trolley earthen lamps on Diwali.
