Due to today's busy lifestyle and bad eating habits, heart diseases are increasing rapidly. The cases of heart diseases are increasing very rapidly due to reasons like fast food, outside food, mental stress, less sleep and lack of physical exertion. Diseases which were earlier seen at the age of 60-70, are now becoming common even at the age of 30-40. People at young age are facing problems like heart attack, high BP, cholesterol etc. In such a situation, according to Ayurveda, adopting these rules can reduce the risk of heart diseases to a great extent. Balanced diet:
Balanced diet plays a very important role in keeping the heart healthy. According to Ayurveda, we should include all types of nutritious elements like green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains, pulses and nuts in our daily diet. All these things are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber which are very beneficial for heart health. Also, the intake of excess fat, salt and sugar should be limited as these can increase the risk of heart diseases.
Exercise and Yoga:
Regular physical activity and exercise are very important to keep the heart healthy. This has also been emphasized in Ayurveda. Doing exercise and yoga for some time daily strengthens the heart muscles. It helps in keeping the arteries clean and improves blood circulation. Due to which the risk of heart diseases reduces at an early age. Activities like walking, jogging, cycling, yoga, pranayam are very beneficial for the heart. These should be included in daily routine.
Do not take stress,
emotions like anxiety, fear, depression make the heart beat faster which can prove to be dangerous. Therefore, in Ayurveda, emphasis has been laid on avoiding these negative emotions and maintaining mental peace. Doing meditation and yoga daily gives peace of mind. Apart from this, spending positive time with family and friends also keeps stress away.
