Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the interim budget on 1 February. The government's focus can be on employment generating schemes. This time the government will not present the full budget, because Lok Sabha elections are to be held. Like the last elections, this time also the government can start schemes that directly benefit the general public. When it comes to employment, it rests on the Self-reliant India Employment Scheme launched by the Government of India. Let us know about the scheme under which common people are hoping that people can get new employment opportunities.
What is the plan?
To promote the Self-reliant India Employment Scheme, the Central Government has started this scheme to promote jobs during the lockdown. Under this scheme, a salary subsidy of 24% will be provided to the employees through EPFO (Employee Provident Fund Organization). Its target is to create 10 lakh jobs in two years.
The government has set a budget of approximately Rs 6000 crore for this scheme. Under this, more than 5 lakh companies have been registered so far. Through these companies, the target is to provide around 10 lakh jobs to the employees. This scheme is trying to strengthen the economic condition of the people by providing them employment opportunities, especially after the lockdown. Naturally, along with the Self-reliant India campaign, it is trying to take the country out of the economic crisis.
