Government's emphasis will be on creating religious hub in the budget, this challenge will be in front of Finance Minister

The government has spent about $120 million in the last decade to develop Hindu pilgrimage sites for religious tourism. In such a situation, religious tourism will be mentioned along with the establishment of Ram temple and the consecration of Ram Lala.

The central government is going to present the interim budget on February 1, in which Ram temple and religious tourism will be mentioned. The essence of Ram temple and religious tourism will be visible in the speech given by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the sixth consecutive time. Claiming to present an accurate blueprint to take the country's economy to greater heights, it will include the benefits derived from existing schemes and continuing them in a better way.

Focus will be on these sectors

In the upcoming interim budget, Finance Minister Sitharaman's focus will be on the development of religious tourism, agriculture sector, women enterprises, employment generation, infrastructure facilities and infotech sector. But any new big announcement is not possible as per tradition. The rules do not prevent any government or Parliament from making policy announcements, provided that elections have not already been announced. Vote on Account is presented to seek approval for expenditure for 2-3 or 4 months from 1st April till the new government is elected and the full budget is presented. The interim budgets of 2004, 2014 and 2019 show that they all contained important policy announcements, related to subsidized food scheme, One Rank-One Pension, relief for the automobile sector and Kisan Samman Nidhi, etc.

This challenge will be before the government

According to the Constitution, the terminology of the interim budget is not official, but practical. What will be presented in the House in official form is called Vote on Account. The tradition of an election year is that the government presents the Vote on Account in Parliament in such a year and it is assumed that the full budget will be presented by the incoming government after the elections. Passing the Vote on Account is necessary so that during this period the government employees continue to get their salaries on time. All the work of the country and the government should continue smoothly and there should be no financial problems. The tradition of interim budget has been created so that the government does not present any big populist schemes to win the elections, which do not have such an impact on the country's treasury that the economic policies of the next government come to a standstill. In such a situation, in the interim budget of 2024, the Finance Minister will present a blueprint to improve the existing schemes.

Government's focus on creating religious hub

The government has spent about $120 million in the last decade to develop Hindu pilgrimage sites for religious tourism. In such a situation, religious tourism will be mentioned along with the establishment of Ram temple and the consecration of Ram Lala. Whereas the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi can be increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000. Not only this, the amount for women farmers can be Rs 12 thousand. Apart from this, Kisan Credit can also be increased from Rs 20 lakh crore to Rs 22 lakh crore.

Continuing the emphasis on women farmer empowerment, the Finance Minister can announce in the interim budget that women farmers will be recognized and given priority in giving them Kisan Credit Cards. Besides, women farmers can also be provided loans at one percent cheaper rates than men. Apart from this, there may also be announcement of life insurance scheme at affordable rates for farmers, loan for disposal of agri waste and special incentives for stubble management.
