Nitish Kumar has resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar. While resigning, Nitish Kumar said very little to the media. Keep saying again and again that we have worked and the situation in the India Alliance and the Grand Alliance was not good. Nitish Kumar has changed political parties many times before. Know what he said then.
This is the style of Nitish Kumar's politics. The Chief Minister remains the same, the alliance partners keep changing. The year 2000 was the month of March. When Nitish became the Chief Minister of Bihar for the first time, he soon had to resign due to lack of majority. Nitish returned to power after five years. Took over the post of Chief Minister for the second time as a partner of Bharatiya Janata Party. Nitish ran the government and emerged as good governance babu.
The year came 2010. Nitish's party Janata Dal United and Bharatiya Janata Party reached the House by winning more than three-fourth of the seats. Nitish became the Chief Minister for the third time. The government continued to function. The year came 2013. Bharatiya Janata Party made Narendra Modi the face of the election campaign for the general elections to be held next year, which meant that if Modi won the Lok Sabha elections, he would become the Prime Minister. Nitish Kumar did not like this. Nitish left NDA citing political ideology and principles.
2015's Sometimes Here, Sometimes There
Assembly elections were to be held in Bihar in 2015. Nitish Kumar decided to contest the elections under the banner of Grand Alliance with Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal. Saying that defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party is the need of the hour and this is possible only through the Grand Alliance. The Grand Alliance won the elections.
Nitish became the Chief Minister but that government fell after one and a half years. Nitish resigned after the name of Lalu family, especially Tejashwi Yadav, came up in a money laundering case. Within 24 hours he was again successful in garnering the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In this way Nitish once again became the Chief Minister in 2017.
Elections were held in the state after two years. Nitish contested the 2020 assembly elections with the Bharatiya Janata Party. They won but this time it did not last even for 2 years. Nitish Kumar resigned in August 2022, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of breaking his party and then formed the government with RJD and Congress.
Then Nitish had also talked about weakening JDU through Chirag Paswan. Obviously his reference was towards BJP through Chirag. Now Nitish has again resigned from his post today saying that the condition of the Grand Alliance was not good and work was not being done in the India Alliance.
