In fact, the company's first EV car is going to be launched in India this year. Whose manufacturing will be in Gujarat only. In fact, Suzuki Group will not make this car only for India. But will also export to different countries of the world. Earlier, Suzuki Motor Corporation Chairman Toshihiro Suzuki has also announced an investment of Rs 35 thousand crore for a car manufacturing plant in Gujarat. This will be the group's second plant in Gujarat.

EV car will be launched this year

According to the statement from Suzuki Motor Gujarat, the group will bring its first EV car to India by the end of this year. This car will also be exported to India. According to the information, the group is also planning to start its fourth production line to increase the production of its EV cars. For this, Suzuki Motor has decided to invest Rs 3,200 crore in Gujarat. With this investment the production capacity of the company will increase by 2.5 lakh units per year.

At present, the annual production capacity of Suzuki Motor Gujarat is 7.5 lakh units, which will increase to 10 lakh units after the construction of the fourth production line. According to the information, the fourth production line will be started in the financial year 2026-27. According to Suzuki Motors, the company is not only focusing on petrol cars but also on cars running on CNG, biogas, bioethanol, electric and hydrogen.

Investment of Rs 35 thousand crore in the state

Suzuki Motor Corporation Chairman Toshihiro Suzuki on Wednesday said Maruti Suzuki India will invest Rs 35,000 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The company aims to increase the annual production capacity to more than 40 lakh units by 2030-31. Speaking at the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), Toshihiro said the installed production capacity of the plant will be 10 lakh units per annum. Toshihiro said that we will invest Rs 35,000 crore to build a second car plant in Gujarat, which will produce 10 lakh units every year.

New plant may start in 5 years

He said that the new plant is expected to start operation in the financial year 2028-29. Details of its location and the models to be produced will be shared in due course. Toshihiro said that with this the annual production capacity in Gujarat will become 20 lakh units. Suzuki Motor will manufacture 10 lakh units in Gujarat and 10 lakh units in the other new plant. Suzuki Motor has about 58 percent stake in Maruti Suzuki India.

Continuous increase in production

Toshihiro said that the Indian automotive market is continuously expanding due to the strong leadership and continued support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the manufacturing industries. He said that on this basis India has become the third largest motor vehicle market in the world. Toshihiro said that we have also significantly increased the production capacity in India. We expect 1.7 times increase in vehicle production and 2.6 times increase in export sales in the current financial year 2023-24 as compared to 10 years ago.
