The political drama going on in Bihar has not ended yet. On one side is Nitish Kumar's camp and on the other side are Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. It is being said that in the next few hours or on Sunday, Nitish Kumar can take a big step like resigning. However, till now only the rounds of meetings are going on. Big leaders from JDU, RJD to BJP were seen busy in meetings. It is believed that if Nitish Kumar returns to NDA, it can prove to be a profitable deal for both BJP and JDU.
This is the reason why BJP, which was silent till now, has suddenly softened its attitude towards Nitish Kumar. Somewhere BJP also realizes that if Nitish Kumar comes with NDA in Bihar, it can also get huge political benefits. BJP's eyes are currently fixed on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BJP is aiming to cross 400. BJP knows very well that the target of 400 is not possible without UP-Bihar.
Nitish's coming together is also considered beneficial for BJP because it does not have any big face in Bihar. In such a situation, if Nitish Kumar returns to NDA, then he will get the support of a big leader in Bihar and can also give a tough challenge to other opposition parties including RJD. Lalu Yadav is a leader with a huge support base in Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav is also following his footsteps. Therefore, the deal to include Nitish in NDA can prove beneficial for BJP.
JDU may get advantage in Lok Sabha elections
On the other hand, if JDU becomes a part of NDA then Nitish Kumar will also benefit from it. JDU was a part of NDA in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Then the NDA alliance had won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar. If seen party wise, BJP had won 17 seats, JDU had won 16, Lok Janshakti Party had won 6 and Congress had won one seat. At present, there is a dilemma regarding seat sharing in the Indian alliance. Nitish Kumar has said many times that seat sharing should be done as soon as possible but his words were not given any importance. In such a situation, Nitish Kumar is also aware that Bihar's number one party RJD can demand maximum seats
This clearly means that Nitish Kumar can benefit in the Lok Sabha elections while being in the NDA. In this, caste based census can prove to be a big weapon for them. If they join NDA, they can also turn Hindutva voters towards themselves through Ram temple in Ayodhya. In such a situation, it is believed that if Nitish Kumar goes with NDA, then from the Lok Sabha point of view, he is likely to suffer negligible loss.
The way forward will remain open for Nitish
If Nitish Kumar becomes a part of NDA, his government does not see any threat till the Bihar Assembly elections. Meanwhile, even if BJP wins the Lok Sabha elections, it will still be a plus point for Nitish. If BJP gets ahead of JDU in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections and stakes its claim on the post of Chief Minister, then Nitish Kumar can express his desire to go to a big position in central politics. If JDU gets twenty in the elections then there is no problem.
