To open an online account, the Aadhaar of both the minor and the guardian should be linked to the same mobile number. Apart from this, the guardian should have an existing Zerodha account. When the minor's Aadhaar is not linked to the mobile number, or if the minor does not have Aadhaar, the account will have to be created offline. The company says that after verifying all these documents, the minor account will be opened within 48 hours.

The guardian must sign all forms and supporting documents on behalf of the minor. PAN, Aadhaar number, birth certificate or school leaving certificate, mark sheet issued by Higher Secondary Board or passport as proof of date of birth, a recent photograph, copy of canceled check or bank statement and document of legal guardian will be required. .
