PAK: Imran's party PTI does not even get 'batsman' symbol, Election Commission refuses to accept nomination

It is not clear in Pakistan under what conditions PTI-N has agreed to issue its tickets to PTI candidates, but the special thing is that its (PTI-N) chief Akhtar Iqbal Dar has issued a statement. PTI and its chairman were declared corrupt.

There is a lot of excitement in Pakistan before the general elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday refused to accept the applications of the candidates of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to contest the elections on February 8. There was a demand to contest the voting on the election symbol of some other party.

Imran Khan's party fears that the Supreme Court may stop the decision of the Peshawar High Court, under which PTI candidates were allowed to use the election symbol cricket bat. Due to this apprehension, under a special scheme, PTI had asked the party candidates to reapply for the batsman election symbol instead of the cricket bat. Batsman is the election symbol of PTI-Nazariyati.

Day long hearing regarding election symbol

The Election Commission of Pakistan, in its order, has asked the election officials to reject those nomination papers which have been submitted on the 'Batsman' election symbol. On the other hand, the Supreme Court of Pakistan heard the entire day on Saturday on the Election Commission's appeal requesting to suspend the High Court's decision.

The Election Commission refused to extend the deadline for allotment of election symbols to political parties. Today was Saturday, the last day of election symbol allocation in the country.

The plan was to fight with the help of 'batsman'

Meanwhile, PTI said, “If the 'cricket bat' election symbol is not allowed, then PTI can easily appeal to the voters to approve the 'batsman' election symbol. “PTI has issued tickets to the second party PTI-Nazariyati to all its national and provincial assembly candidates,” the party said. PTI also directed that all candidates should immediately submit their tickets to their respective election officer and district election officer.

However, it is not clear under what conditions PTI-N has agreed to issue its tickets to PTI candidates, but the special thing is that its (PTI-N) chief Akhtar Iqbal Dar has issued a statement. PTI and its chairman were declared corrupt.
