- Rice – 1 cup
- Moong dal – 1/2 cup
- Chana dal – 1/2 cup
- Milk – 2 cups
- Jaggery – 1/2 cup (chopped)
- Cardamom – 2-3
- Dry fruits – chopped
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
How to make Pongal Pinai
- To make this, first wash the rice and soak it in a vessel.
- After which roast chana dal and moong dal in a pan till they turn brown.
- After this, wash them and soak them with rice.
- Then boil milk in an earthen pot and when the milk starts boiling, add rice and dal.
- Now let it cook on low flame until it boils well.
- When it is cooked, add jaggery to it and mix it well.
- Now add cardamom and dry fruits in it.
