'Return Bengal's funds in 7 days or else...', Mamata's ultimatum to the Centre.


Mamata Banerjee on Friday gave an ultimatum of seven days to the Center to pay all the dues. Earlier, he had met Prime Minister Modi on December 20 and discussed the issue of pending funds. After the meeting he had said that the Prime Minister proposed that the state and central officials would sit together and resolve these issues.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she has given an ultimatum of seven days to the central government to release the outstanding funds. Mamta warned that if the central government does not release the outstanding funds to Bengal within seven days, then TMC will protest on a large scale. Earlier, he had met Prime Minister Modi on December 20 and discussed the issue of pending funds. After the meeting he had said that the Prime Minister proposed that the state and central officials would sit together and resolve these issues.

Let us tell you that according to the data of West Bengal government, the state owes Rs 9,330 crore to the Center under PMAY, Rs 6,900 crore under MNREGA, Rs 830 crore under National Health Mission, Rs 770 crore under PM Gram Sadak Yojana, Rs 350 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission. Rs crore is outstanding. Under the mid-day meal scheme, Rs 175 crore is also outstanding under other schemes.

Center has to give one lakh 16 thousand crores to Bengal- Mamta

Earlier on December 20, CM Mamata had met Prime Minister Modi. After meeting PM Modi, Mamata had said that the Center has to give Rs 1 lakh 16 thousand crore to West Bengal. Mamta said that during this the PM said that there will be joint meetings between the officials of the Center and West Bengal on this. Their and our officers will hold a meeting among themselves. Then they will decide how to pay the outstanding money.
