Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is currently away from cricket due to mental fatigue. Ishaan has also not been selected in the team for the first two matches of the five-match Test series against England starting on January 25. Meanwhile, now former Pakistan batsman Kamran Akmal has given a big statement on Ishan Kishan.
Actually, Kamran Akmal believes that Ishan Kishan should not have taken leave like this citing mental fatigue as the reason. He has criticized Ishan Kishan by giving examples of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He said, 'Ishan Kisan was removed from the Test team in South Africa due to mental fatigue. There was a lot of discussion about it. What mental fatigue can you face in the early days of your career?
Kamran Akmal further said, 'The Indian team has players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah who deal with fatigue and also play international cricket along with IPL. This also includes Test cricket. I have never seen players taking leave for this reason. You are saving yourself for two months of IPL. Playing in the Indian team is a big deal and this excuse is beyond my understanding. I believe that the selectors have done a good job by keeping Ishan Kishan away from this team. This is national duty. You can't demand comfort just like that.
The Pakistani player has even said that Ishan Kishan should be allowed to rest now and then he should play domestic cricket. This will send a message to other players. Also know that Indian team head coach Rahul Dravid has made it clear that Ishan Kishan is not available at the moment due to which he is not being selected in the team. In such a situation, it is possible that he may be selected in the team for the last three matches of the Test series against England and he may return to international cricket.
