France has given such a gift to India, due to which the country has got a chance to achieve sovereignty over the sky. Now India will also make helicopters in the country. Yes, a helicopter manufacturing plant is going to be set up in the country. Tata and European company Airbus will work together on this. Airbus Helicopters said it is partnering with Tata Group to set up a helicopter manufacturing plant in the country. Airbus Helicopters said in a statement that it will manufacture the civil range Airbus H125 helicopter through the final assembly line. Its production will be done for export to India and some neighboring countries.

Country's first helicopter plant

According to the information given by Airbus, the Final Assembly Line (FAL) will be the first example of the private sector setting up a helicopter manufacturing facility in India. This will give impetus to the 'Self-reliant India' program of the Government of India. Under this partnership, Tata Group's subsidiary Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) will set up the plant with Airbus Helicopters. This announcement was made during the two-day visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to India as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

How will the work be done?

Airbus Helicopters said FAL in India will undertake major component assembly, avionics and mission systems, installation of electrical harnesses, hydraulic circuits, flight controls, fuel systems and engine integration. According to the statement, it will also test, qualify and distribute the H125 to customers in India and the region. The statement said that FAL will take 24 months to be established. Deliveries of the first 'Made in India' H125 are expected to begin in 2026. According to the statement, the location for setting up the final assembly line will be jointly decided by Airbus and Tata Group.

Airbus Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Guillaume Faury said that helicopters are important for nation building. The 'Made-in-India' civil helicopter will not only symbolize a confident new India, but will also reveal the true potential of the helicopter market in the country. He said, 'We will build the final assembly line for the helicopter in collaboration with our trusted partner Tata. This reflects Airbus's commitment to developing the aerospace ecosystem in India.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that this is a historic day and this collaboration is an important milestone in promoting indigenous manufacturing and will increase employment opportunities.
