Actually there was a scene in the last part of the film. Where Gabbar along with his goons prepares to fight Thakur. To bring life to this scene, the director had also ordered some real bullets.

There was a scene in the climax of Sholay where Dharmendra had to fire fake bullets. When this scene was being shot, the director was not getting a perfect shot. Due to which he was repeatedly getting scenes shot by Dharmendra. However, the actor started getting angry due to repeated takes. When Dharmendra was asked to start the action again for the fourth time, he unknowingly loaded the real bullet kept in his gun and fired it at Amitabh.
