Australia announced the team for T20 World Cup 2024, there is no place for Steve Smith, he became the captain

Australia Team T20 World Cup 2024: Australia has announced a 15-member squad for  the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in America and West Indies in June. Veteran batsmen Steve Smith and Jake Fraser-McGurk have not got a place in the team. This is the first time in the last decade that Smith has not got a place in the World Cup team. Fraser-McGurk has performed brilliantly in this format in recent times.

Ashton Agar and Cameron Green are part of the team. Both of them played their last T20 International match for Australia about 18 months ago.

The captaincy of the team has been handed over to Mitchell Marsh. After Aaron Finch's retirement, Marsh captained Australia in three T20 series in the last 12 months. But now he has been officially made the captain by Cricket Australia.

Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will handle the responsibility of fast bowling and Nathan Ellis has got the place as the fourth option. Josh English has been included as reserve wicketkeeper.

Australia  will play its first match in the T20 World Cup  against Oman on June 6, followed by England on June 9, Namibia on June 12 and Scotland on June 16.

Let us tell you that all the teams can make changes in their team till May 25.
