Now you will not have to visit RTO
If you want to apply for a new driving license from June 1st. So you will not need to visit the Regional Transport Office i.e. RTO. Such an important update is coming from July 1, 2024.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is making changes in many rules from June 1, 2024, one of which is related to getting a driving license. With this update, to get a new driving license, you will be able to give the driving test not at the Regional Transport Office (RTO), but by going to a private training center or driving school. From here only you will get the driving eligibility certificate.
Now DL will be available at private driving training center
Let us tell you that at present, in many cities of the country, DL is given by giving a test in driving schools. Due to which the government will now implement this rule across the country. Due to which now it will not be necessary to take test in RTO to get driving license. Rather, you will be able to go to a private driving training center and give the test. These centers will allow you to take driving test and get driving certificate.
This is how much is the fee charged on a driving licence
You can apply for driving license online through https://parivahan.gov.in/. However, let us tell you about the charges for the new DL and its related work.
- Learner's License (Form 3): Rs 150
- Learner's License Test (or Repeat Test): Rs 50
- Driving test (or re-test): Rs 300
- Issuance of driving license: Rs 200
- International Driving Permit: Rs 1,000
- Adding another vehicle category to the license: Rs 500
- Driving licence renewal: Rs 200
