Importance of Buddha Purnima: Buddha Purnima is on 23rd May, Thursday. Vaishakh Purnima is called Buddha Purnima. Although all Purnima dates are considered important in Hindu religion, some Purnima dates are considered special. Vaishakh Purnima is one of these. This date is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Taking bath in river Ganga and worshiping Lord Vishnu on the day of Vaishakh Purnima not only destroys all sins but also brings happiness and prosperity in life. This time Vaishakh Purnima or Buddha Purnima is even more special because tomorrow on 23rd May, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Shiva Yoga are being formed on the full moon day. Apart from this, Shukraditya Yoga is being formed due to Venus-Sun conjunction and Gajalakshmi Rajyoga is also being formed due to Jupiter-Venus conjunction. Taking bath, donating, doing good deeds and worshiping in so many auspicious yogas will give many times more benefits. 

Buddha Purnima auspicious time for bathing and donating 

According to the Panchang, the full moon date will be from 5:50 pm on May 22 to 6:20 pm on May 23. Meanwhile, the timing of bathing and donation on Vaishakh Purnima or Buddha Purnima will be from 4:04 AM to 5:26 AM on Thursday, May 23. Whereas on Vaishakh Purnima, the time of puja will be from 10.35 am to 12.18 pm. 

Buddha Purnima Puja Method 

Take bath in Ganga or any other holy river on the day of Buddha Purnima or Vaishakh Purnima. Then, wearing clean clothes, mix Ganga water and offer Arghya to the Sun God. Offering water to the Peepal tree on this day is also very beneficial. 

After bathing, worship Lord Vishnu as per the rituals. During this time, light a ghee lamp in front of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. Offer them fruits, flowers, sweets. Keep in mind that Tulsi Dal must be offered in the puja, it is very dear to Lord Vishnu. Then recite Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra. Finally perform Aarti. 

Vaishakh Purnima donation

Many people also keep a fast on the day of Vaishakh Purnima, but the full results of fasting and worship are achieved only when charity is also done. On the day of Vaishakh Purnima, donate a pitcher filled with water, sweets and fruits to a Brahmin. Donate to the needy as per your capacity.
