All the teams will compete for the title of the inaugural edition. The league will be played in a round robin format, with the top four teams at the end of the league stage advancing to the knockout stage. A total of 24 thrilling matches will be played in the league, with double-headers on each day. The semi-finals will be held on August 27, followed by the grand finale on August 28.
Talking about the newly formed league, Vishal Sharma said, “We are thrilled to launch the Legends Intercontinental T20 League, which will feature legendary stars from different continents putting on a spectacular cricket show. Cricket is growing rapidly in the US, and we believe this is an ideal time to launch the Legends League for cricket fans in the US. We are excited to take stars like Parthiv Patel, Brett Lee, TM Dilshan and Graeme Swann on this special occasion and embark on the journey of this T20 league.”
Expressing his happiness on joining the Legends Intercontinental T20 League, Dilshan said, "I think the Legends Intercontinental T20 League is going to be amazing. We can all share our memories. The days when we used to play together, fight on the field and share great rivalries. Still, people want to see the legends play. So, I am excited and looking forward to participating in this mega event of cricket."
Extending his support to the league, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee said, "It's always great for us to see the players I have played against throughout my career back with us. It gives us a chance to be at par again. And now that we have legends in front of us, it's going to be a lot of fun. So it's exciting and exciting to see what's going to be in store for the players."
