The mythological story of Hanuman ji being immortal
According to Valmiki Ramayana, after Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, Hanuman Ji went to Lanka in search of Sita on the orders of Lord Rama. After meeting Sita in Ashok Vatika, Hanuman Ji gave her Lord Shri Ram's ring and calling himself Lord Shri Ram's messenger assured Sita that Lord Shri Ram would soon come to Lanka to take Sita. Then Mother Sita, seeing Hanuman Ji's love for Lord Shri Ram, blessed him to be immortal.
Even after Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya, Hanuman Ji stayed with him and continued to serve Lord Shri Ram, but when the time came for Lord Shri Ram to return to Vaikunth Lok, Hanuman Ji became very sad. Suffering from his great sorrow, Hanuman Ji went to Mother Sita and said, 'Mother, you gave me the boon of immortality, but did not tell me what I will do here when my Lord Rama leaves this earth?' Saying this, Hanuman Ji started insisting on taking back his boon from Mother Sita.
Then Sita Mata meditated on Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Ram appeared. Lord Shri Ram embraced Hanuman Ji and said that no creature born on this earth is immortal, everyone has to leave this earth one day or the other. But you have been blessed with immortality, this is because as long as Ram's name is taken on this earth, the responsibility of saving Ram's devotees will be yours. You will destroy the troubles of all Ram devotees and do good to them.
After listening to Lord Shri Ram, Hanuman Ji got the purpose of his immortal life and he gave up his stubbornness and accepted the command of Lord Shri Ram. For this reason, it is believed that even today in Kalyug, Hanuman Ji lives on earth in physical form and removes all the troubles of the devotees of Lord Ram and does good to them.
