Actually, recently Gautam Gambhir was seen in Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube show 'Kutty Stories with Ash'. Here he told Ashwin an incident related to his childhood. Gambhir revealed how in his childhood, when he got a chance to play under-14, he was rejected only because he did not touch the feet of the selectors.

He said, 'When I was about 12-13 years old, I gave a trial for the Under-14 tournament. But I could not be selected, the reason behind this was that I had not touched the feet of the selectors. Since then I promised myself that I would never touch anyone's feet nor would I let anyone touch my feet.

However, after this, Gautam Gambhir worked better on his scribblings and made himself so capable that it became very difficult for any selector to ignore them. Gambhir also revealed that whenever he failed to perform during his cricket career, people used to say about him that he did not need to play cricket because he was the son of a businessman.
