IPL 2024: If Qualifier 2 is canceled due to rain, then which team will make it to the final? Know the complete rules

IPL Final : One team for the final in IPL 2024 has been decided, while the second team has not been decided yet. The second team will be decided after the eliminator and the second qualifier match. Sunrisers Hyderabad team will play the second qualifier match, as they had to face defeat in their first qualifier. Whereas whichever team wins the match between Rajasthan Royals and RCB will play the second qualifier match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the big question is that if it rains in the second qualifier match, then which team will go to the final.

During IPL 2024, many matches have been canceled due to rain in the last few days. A match in Ahmedabad was canceled due to rain and the IPL playoff matches are being played here. There is a reserve day for the final match of IPL but no reserve day has been kept for the playoffs. That is, the match will have to be completed on the day it is scheduled and if it is not completed then it will be declared cancelled.

SRH will benefit if the match is canceled due to rain

According to the rules, if the match is delayed due to rain, then extra 2 hours will be given to complete it. In the playoffs, 2 hours are being given, whereas during the league match, this time is 1 hour, that is, efforts will be made to complete it on the same day on which the match is taking place. If it rains then the umpires will try to conduct the match of at least 5 overs. If even a match of 5 overs cannot be held then there will be a super over and if due to continuous rain even the super over cannot be held then the match will be declared cancelled. In such a situation, the team which is higher in the points table will move ahead.

This means that if the playoff match is canceled due to rain, then Sunrisers Hyderabad team will reach the finals. The reason for this is that they were above both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in the points table.
