IPL 2024: MI batsmen spoiled Rohit Sharma's stormy innings, LSG got a huge victory.



Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants: Today in IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians faced Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium. In the 67th match of the tournament, host team captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Nicholas Puran and KL Rahul played half-centuries for the Lucknow team, due to which the visiting team set a challenging target of 215 runs for Mumbai. In response to this target, Mumbai team got a fast start but apart from Rohit Sharma and Naman Dheer, none of the batsmen could perform and Mumbai lost by 18 runs.

Devdutt Padikkal was out on zero on the very first ball for the Lucknow team who came to bat first. There was an important partnership of 48 runs between Rahul and Marcus Stoinis for the second wicket. The wicket of Stoinis (28 runs) was in the name of Piyush Chawla. Lucknow's innings came to a halt after losing 2 wickets within 50 runs. After a good start, Nicholas Puran pulled out the team which was in trouble and as soon as he arrived, he started playing quick shots. Nicholas Pooran played a stormy inning of 85 runs with the help of 5 fours and 8 sixes.

At the other end, KL Rahul also completed his half-century. Rahul faced 41 balls and scored 55 runs in which he hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. In the last overs, there was an important partnership of 36 runs in 17 balls between Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni. Krunal scored 12 runs on 7 balls and Badoni scored 22 runs on 10 balls. Piyush Chawla and Nuwan Thushara took 3-3 wickets for Mumbai Indians.

Rohit Sharma scored a stormy half-century

In response to the target of 215 runs, Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis made a stormy start. Together they added 88 runs for the first wicket. Brevis played an important inning of 23 runs. Suryakumar Yadav was out without opening the account, while in the middle order, Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs, Hardik Pandya 16 and Nehal Wadhera 1 run. Rohit Sharma played an excellent inning of 68 runs for Mumbai. Rohit hit 10 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. In the last overs, Naman Dheer played a brilliant inning of 62 runs in 28 balls. Naveen-ul-Haq and Ravi Bishnoi took maximum 2 wickets for Lucknow.
