Actually, actor and filmmaker Ananth Mahadevan has made a big revelation in one of his interviews that many scenes in the film 'Laapataa Ladies' directed by Kiran Rao have been taken from the 1999 film 'Ghunghat Ke Pat Khol'. . The film stars Joy Sengupta, Vishal Verma, Sethutha Khanna and TV actress Neha Pendse in lead roles.
Ananth Mahadevan told that in his film, a city boy goes to marry a village girl but while returning he gets exchanged with the bride. He makes the newlywed bride sit on a bench and goes to get the details of the train. But he mistakenly takes the other bride sitting there with him.

However, the ending of Ananth's film is different from the story of 'Laapataa Ladies'. But he also revealed that a scene in the film was shown where Pushpa was called to the police station for identification. But she does not lift her veil due to which the policeman is unable to identify her. Because she keeps a long veil so that no one can identify her. According to Anant, this scene has also been taken from his film 'Ghunghat Ke Pat Khol'.
