New feature introduced for WhatsApp status update
WABetainfo, a website that keeps an eye on WhatsApp's upcoming features, has given information about the rollout of Status updates - audience control. According to the report, the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.75 update available on the TestFlight app has revealed that the company is rolling out the new feature to selected users.
From the name of the feature itself, it can be guessed that the feature has been introduced to control the audience on status updates. A screenshot is also given in the report. Two options for update are visible in the screenshot.
Now you will get two new options
Like WhatsApp's profile photo, there are options for the visibility of the profile. Similarly, while sharing photos and videos on status, you will get two options. With this you will be able to select to whom you want to show that photo and to whom not.
In the screenshot, two new options All Contacts and Specific Contacts will be available. If you want to hide it from someone then click on Specific Contacts and select them. After that share it.
Till now privacy feature is available for status. However, once the setting is done, it will be applicable for all your status. This feature will allow you to select a contact for a single photo or video.
However, keep in mind that this feature has only been rolled out to a few lucky beta users right now. At present, its testing is going on. After this, this feature of WhatsApp will be rolled out for all users on the stable version.
