S Jaishankar also turned out to be a fan of Virat, chose Kohli before Sachin and Gavaskar

 

India's Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar's love for cricket is not hidden from anyone. He has talked about cricket and cricketers many times during his interviews and this time too, when he was asked to choose his favorite cricketer, he chose star Indian batsman Virat Kohli.

Jaishankar was given three options in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli but Jaishankar chose Kohli over other Indian legends. Jaishankar chose Kohli over other Indian legends because of his fitness level and attitude. "All three are great, but I have a bias on this and this bias is towards Kohli for fitness and his attitude. I like his fitness and attitude," Jaishankar said on Sushant Sinha's YouTube channel.

The kind of attitude and fitness level that Virat Kohli has maintained has not only mesmerized billions of Indians but also the Foreign Minister of India. Kohli was in great form in the recently concluded IPL 2024. He won the Orange Cap as the highest run-scorer of the tournament by scoring 714 runs in 15 matches at an average of 61.75, including 5 half-centuries and a century to his name. Kohli also silenced his critics with a strike rate of 154.70 and managed to hit 38 sixes in the tournament.

He became the first Indian and third batsman overall to win the Orange Cap twice after Chris Gayle and David Warner. Kohli's excellent form played a key role in RCB's greatest comeback in IPL history. Well, now Indian fans are expecting a similar performance from Kohli  in the T20 World Cup  2024 as well. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether he is able to contribute in making Team India the T20 champion for the second time or not.
