Where is Prafulla Dhariwal from?
Prafull Dhariwal is a resident of Pune. Dhariwal has long been recognized for his academic and scientific achievements. He won the National Talent Search Scholarship from the Government of India in the year 2009. In the same year he won the gold medal in the International Astronomy Olympiad held in China. Also won gold medal in both International Physics Olympiad in 2012 and International Mathematics Olympiad in 2013.
Dhariwal has also performed very well in studies. In the 12th class examination, he scored an excellent 295 marks out of 300 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects. Not only this, he also did wonders in the entrance examinations. He scored 190 marks in Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MT-CET) and in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Mains) he surprised everyone by scoring 330 marks out of 360.
Government honored
In recognition of his excellent studies, Dhariwal was awarded the annual Aabasaheb Narayan Memorial Award in 2013 by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).
OpenAI's journey
Dhariwal earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Mathematics) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His OpenAI journey began in May 2016 as a research intern. Dhariwal's major works include GPT-3, text-to-image platform DALL-E 2, innovative music generator Jukebox and reversible generative model Glow.
