BCCI approaches Gautam Gambhir to become India's head coach: Former captain of the Indian cricket team and veteran batsman Gautam Gambhir can be made the next head coach of Team India. Gautam Gambhir's name is at the top in the list of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and he can be seen taking over this post in place of Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup 2024.

According to the report of ESPNcricinfo, Gambhir is currently associated with Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor. The BCCI has contacted Gambhir to gauge his interest in becoming the head coach of the Indian team and further discussions are expected to take place after KKR completes their IPL 2024 campaign. Let us tell you that the last date of application for the head coach of the Indian team is 27th May, which will be the next day of the IPL final (26th May).

Let us tell you that Gautam Gambhir has worked with many teams in IPL since his retirement. Before joining KKR, Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants and under his leadership the team reached the playoffs twice. Kolkata Knight Riders have also performed amazingly under his mentorship. In IPL 2024, KKR became the first team to make it to the last four.
