Advisory issued regarding heatwave, know what to do and what not to do to avoid it


The heat is increasing day by day in many parts of the country. In such a situation, you should take many precautions to avoid it. Recently, in view of the increasing heat, an advisory has been issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

The heat is increasing day by day. In many parts of the country, the temperature has reached 45 degrees Celsius. In such a situation, the possibility of heat stroke increases significantly. Therefore, it is very important to take care of your health in this season. Although most people include things like buttermilk, lemonade, curd and watermelon in their diet to keep their body hydrated in the summer season. But at this time you should be more careful while going out in the sun. Because the risk of heat stroke increases when the temperature is more than 40 degrees Celsius.

In case of heatwave, a person's health can be harmed and there can even be a possibility of death. Therefore, it is important for you to take many precautions at this time. In view of the continuously increasing heat in many parts of the country, an advisory has been issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority. In which these things given below have been mentioned.

Avoid going out in the sun, especially between 12 and 3 pm.

Wear light weight, loose and light coloured clothes. Cotton clothes will be perfect for this season. While going out in the sun, definitely use glasses, umbrella or hat, and shoes or slippers.

Whenever you go out of the house during summer, always keep a bottle with you.

Avoid drinking alcohol, tea, coffee and carbonated soft drinks, these can cause dehydration in the body. Also avoid eating high protein and stale food at this time.

If your work is not in the office but outside, then definitely use a hat or umbrella and you can also use a damp cloth on your head, neck, face and limbs.

Do not leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

If you are feeling sick or you feel weak or faint, then do not delay but consult a doctor immediately.

Along with ORS, include homemade drinks like lassi, torani i.e. rice water, lemonade, buttermilk etc. in your diet. These drinks can help in hydrating the body.

Keep your home cool, use curtains, shutters or sunshades and open windows at night, also use fans, wear lightly damp clothes and take frequent cool baths.
