Oman batsmen crumbled in front of Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Adil Rashid
England won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved to be absolutely correct. Oman's team could not compete with the world champions at all in Antigua. Half of Oman's team was in the pavilion for just 25 runs. No batsman was able to stay on the crease. The situation was such that only Shoaib Khan from Oman was able to reach double figures and the remaining 10 players could not reach two figures. Due to this, the entire team was reduced to 47 runs in 13.2 overs. Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Adil Rashid bowled brilliantly for England. Archer took 3 wickets for just 12 runs. Mark Wood also took 3 wickets for 12 runs in 3 overs and Adil Rashid took 4 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs.
England's net run rate is better than Scotland
England had to achieve this target as soon as possible to improve their net run rate. However, Phil Salt was out on a score of 12 in the very first over. He scored 12 runs off 3 balls. After this, Will Jacks was also able to score only 5 runs. However, captain Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 24 runs off 8 balls and led the team to an easy victory.
With this win, England's net run rate has now become +3.081, which is better than Scotland. Now if the Australian team defeats Scotland by any margin, England will benefit from it. The English team can easily go to the Super-8 by winning its last match. On the other hand, Oman's team has been eliminated.
