In an interview to Connects Cine, Swara Bhaskar said, "Any sensible person will say that what happened to Kangana was wrong. I think there will be no one who will justify violence. What happened to Kangana was wrong and this should not have happened to her. It is not right to kill anyone."

During this, Swara said, "I think people were not telling Kangana that much, those who are supporters of Kangana's right wing, (were telling them) that you should not speak, because you should let us say that this is wrong. Because you are that community, which justifies lynching."
