Rohit Sharma will not open
Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal should open for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024. This is what former Indian player Wasim Jaffer has said. He has advised captain Rohit Sharma to bat at number four. Sharing a post on social media platform X, Wasim wrote,
"Kohli and Jaiswal should open the innings in the World Cup. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav should bat at number three and four depending on the start we get. Rohit plays spin very well, so batting at number four should not be a concern."
Will Rohit Sharma bat in the middle order?
It is worth noting that Rohit Sharma started his batting career in the middle order, but in 2013 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave him the responsibility of opening, this experiment was successful. Hitman showed a very good performance as an opening batsman and he is one of the best opening batsmen in Indian cricket history. In such a situation, it is very difficult to say whether he will follow Wasim Jaffer's advice to play at number 4 or not.
