Sanjay Nishad, leader of Nishad Party, an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh, has made a big claim on TV9. On the defeat of his son Praveen Nishad, Sanjay Nishad has said that the people of BJP did not support us… we won our booth but the rest of the responsibility was of the BJP workers who did not work properly.
Nishad said, "Modi ji gave ticket to my son but people in UP did not like it, they wanted their own ticket. Due to internal politics of BJP leaders, the results in UP were not good. Also, due to over-enthusiasm, the results were bad." According to Nishad, "We were not able to explain our point to the public and we suffered because of the narrative set by the opposition."

Sanjay Nishad's son Praveen Kumar Nishad contested the election from Sant Kabirnagar Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. Praveen had to face defeat in this election. He got a total of 4 lakh 6 thousand 525 votes. Lakshmikant Nishad, who defeated him, got 4 lakh 98 thousand 695 votes. Lakshmikant Nishad was contesting the election on the cycle symbol of Samajwadi Party. He defeated Sanjay Nishad's son by 92 thousand 170 votes.
2019 election result, Praveen had won
On this seat, Nadeem Ashraf of Bahujan Samaj Party got 1 lakh 50 thousand 812 votes. Nadeem remained at third place. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Praveen Kumar Nishad won on BJP ticket. Then Nishad got 4 percent votes. Nishad was successful in getting 4 lakh 67 thousand 543 votes. Then SP and BSP contested the election in alliance on this seat. This seat came in the share of BSP. BSP had made Bhishma Shankar Tiwari its candidate who was able to get 4 lakh 31 thousand 794 votes.
