The Kashi Lalima variety of ladyfinger has been developed by the Indian Vegetable Research Institute (IIVR) located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is full of many qualities. According to scientists, this ladyfinger is full of many nutrients including anti-oxidants, iron and calcium, which means there are many benefits of consuming it. Let us also tell you that different varieties of this ladyfinger have been developed.

Research started in 1995-96

Let us tell you that the Indian Vegetable Research Institute started research work on this species of ladyfinger in 1995-96, which has now been successful. Indian farmers will now be able to produce this ladyfinger. For this, the seeds of Kashi Lalima ladyfinger will be available to the common people from December from the institute. At present, only green ladyfinger is produced in India, while red ladyfinger is imported to western countries, the price of different varieties of which is Rs 100-500 per kg. But now this ladyfinger will not have to be imported from foreign countries. Rather, this ladyfinger can be grown in the country itself.
