Odisha's new government's big decision on Jagannath temple, all four entrances will be opened today


The BJP got a clear mandate in Odisha for the first time, ending the 24-year rule of Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The 16-member council of ministers led by Chief Minister Majhi includes four tribals, two Dalits and one woman, including Majhi.

Tribal leader and four-time MLA Mohan Charan Majhi took oath as the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha on Wednesday. In the first cabinet meeting after the oath, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that the four entry gates of the Jagannath Puri temple will be opened on Thursday (today) in the presence of all ministers. The Cabinet has approved a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore for the Puri Sri Jagannath Temple.

Apart from this, CM Majhi said that under the new policy, farmers will be given MSP of Rs 3100 per quintal for paddy. A policy will be prepared after 100 days for the Subhadra scheme, under which every woman will be given cash vouchers of Rs 50,000. For this, the department has been instructed to implement it after 100 days.

Mohan Charan Majhi took oath

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union ministers and chief ministers attended the swearing-in ceremony of Mohan Charan Majhi. Senior BJP leader and MLA from Patnagarh KV Singh Deo and first-time MLA from Nimapara assembly constituency Prabhati Parida took oath as deputy CM.

BJP got absolute majority for the first time

Let us tell you that for the first time BJP got a clear mandate in Odisha, which ended the 24-year-old rule of Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The 16-member cabinet led by Chief Minister Majhi includes four tribals, two Dalits and one woman including Majhi. CM Majhi's cabinet includes two deputy CMs, eight cabinet ministers and five ministers of state (independent charge).

Suresh Pujari, Rabinarayan Naik, Nityananda Gond, Krishna Chandra Patra, Prithviraj Harichandan, Mukesh Mahaling, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena and Krishna Chandra Mohapatra took oath as Cabinet Ministers. Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Suryabanshi Suraj, Pradeep Balasananta, Gokula Nanda Mallick and Sampad Kumar Swain took oath as Ministers of State (Independent).

BJP won 78 seats

Of the 78 BJP members elected to the Assembly, only five are women. Sources indicated that Surma Padhi, elected from Ranpur in Nayagarh district, is expected to become the Assembly Speaker. The Council of Ministers has four members from the western region of Odisha, three from the northern region including the Chief Minister, four from the coastal region, three from the southern region and one from Central Odisha. The BJP came to power by securing 78 seats in the 147-member assembly of the state, while Patnaik-led BJD got 51, Congress 14, CPI(M) got one seat and independent candidates won three seats.
