She collected salary without working for 20 years, then filed a case against the company

A woman named Laurence Van Wassenhove, a resident of France, has filed a case against her own company and alleged that the company kept paying her salary for 20 years without giving her any work, i.e. the company kept paying her salary without doing any work. She has filed a case against the company alleging 'moral harassment and discrimination at the workplace'.

Often people complain that the company makes them do more work than their salary, while some people keep drawing salaries in lakhs without doing any work, but nowadays a case is in discussion which has surprised everyone. Actually, a French woman has filed a case in the court against the telecom giant Orange accusing it of 'moral harassment and discrimination at the workplace'. She has alleged that the company kept paying her salary for 20 years without giving her any work.

The woman's name is Laurence van Wassenhove. According to a report by a website called Oddity Central, in 1993, France Telecom recruited Laurence as a civil servant, but after that Orange acquired the company. Now since her original employer knew that Laurence was suffering from a disease called hemiplegic since birth, in which people's faces and limbs become partially paralyzed. Along with this, she also had the problem of epilepsy, she was offered a position based on her medical condition.

Problems started after transfer

According to reports, Lawrence worked in the HR department and as a secretary until 2002 and was then transferred to another region of France, but her new workplace did not suit her needs and a medical report also confirmed that the position was not suitable for her. Despite this, Orange allegedly failed to make any adjustments to her job and considered it appropriate to pay her full salary for the next 20 years without requiring any work from her.

was forced to leave the job

Now, angry with this attitude of the company, Lawrence has filed a case against Orange. His lawyer claims that in this way the company was trying to force him to leave the job. The lawyer said, 'They prefer to pay him salary instead of making him work'. He further said that Lawrence has filed a complaint against the company and its four managers for 'moral harassment and discrimination at the workplace related to his health condition'.

The company harassed me for 20 years

The woman's lawyer said, 'For a disabled person, working means finding a place in society, getting recognition and creating social bonds', but in this case, Lawrence was deprived of doing all these things for 20 years by 'harassing her', in the hope that she would get fed up and leave the job, but this did not happen, instead Lawrence filed a case against the company.
